My name is Domenico Stefani and I am a postdoc researcher at the CIMIL at the University of Trento, Italy. I received my PhD in Information and Communication Technologies from the University of Trento, with a thesis on real-time Music Information Retrieval on Embedded Computers.

During my PhD I investigated ways of bringing Artificial Intelligence inside musical instrument, which required adapting to resource-constrained embedded computers. I worked on the real-time classification of playing techniques on guitar, and later on the recognition of the player's mood from the audio signal.

I now work on audio processing and music information retrieval projects.

As of early 2025, I make audio plugins as Onyx DSP.

I am passionate about music, audio programming, and look forward for any opportunity to create tools for musicians.

Inquiries from industry or research opportunities are welcomed and can be directed to my email (dom[at]domenicostefani[dot]com).
